Devlog #12 - Scene Puzzles, shaders and particle improvements





VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added glow and a slight camera blur to areas with gas particles  
    • Blur can be stopped by putting mask on 
    • Blur won't be as noticeable for radiation particles 
  • Improved screen "corruption" shader 

SCENE CHANGES

  • Coded scene 5 puzzle
  • Connected different parts of the scene
  • Added puzzle hints and different lore notes 
  • Made some new areas to include one last environmental mechanic  
  • Added third safe room

SFX

  • Made all sound effects for the puzzle (levers) 
  • Started map ambience

BUG FIXES

  • Removed weird water textures appearing on the corners of the screen when looking at water  
    • (Ignore zoom, I couldn't get the same viewpoint lol)

  • Fixed pause button text not resetting after entering the settings menu

By the next devlog I'll probably have the new monster ready to be implemented in the game, which will also bring a revamped combat system. As said in the last devlog, scene 5 is almost done, but having added a new scene mechanic just recently, I'll take a few more days to finish that.
